Could the Edible Water Bubbles Replace the Plastic Bottles? (VIDEO)

Thanks to these incredible edible water bubbles created by an innovative company based in London, UK, the plastic water bottles could be gone.

The bubbles, called Ooho! encircles drinking water within an edible membrane made from from a natural seaweed extract. If not eaten, the bubble can biodegrade in 4-6 weeks.

The team behind this brilliant idea is called “Skipping Rocks Lab”, and it comes to a bunch of engineers who graduated from “Imperial College” in London. They first presented their concept in 2013.

Since then they work hard to make their dream a reality, and through their page which was recently set, they already collected over 600 thousand British pounds (750 thousand US dollars) in just a few days.

Given that in the US alone, 35 billion plastic bottles are used a year, and given that to break down a plastic water bottles take hundreds of years, this sounds like a brilliant idea.
